The workshop/store sees the arrival of a new partner in 1995: Danielle Tremblay. Born in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, she grew up on an ancestral farm, surrounded by the imposing landscape of the area. After obtaining her diploma in art studies in 1981, she settled in Montreal to undertake a career in real estate. It is in 1995 that she met Gilles Bergeron who introduced her to the craft of working with leather. She returned to the place of her childhood where she started to refine various techniques related, the production of furniture and functional objects like log bags, book covers, hand bags and brief-cases.

Since 1976, leather has created an out of the ordinary interest and fascination for him. He finds in this material an inexhaustible source of inspiration. After the sale of his first creations, he opened his first shop in Jonquière: “Mains Agiles” (Nimble Hands). Since then, Gilles Bergeron has taken part in many exhibits and Trades Shows in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean also in Montreal and in Toronto, the “One of a Kind” trade show. The year 1987 marked the beginning of a new concept of shop: Conception Cuir, a workshop/store where people can buy and order custom pieces or particular products.
With a string of the exhibits the duo of Conception Cuir won several awards, Danielle Tremblay continued her research on bindings, color and motifs which soon gave birth to the craft which has occupied her since: drawing in relief on leather. Through iconography with images emerging sometimes from characters and imaginary animals, here she lets her astonishing control of balance and harmony explode. Endowed with an innate direction of color and leaving a broad place with spontaneity in her compositions, Danielle has returned nobility to a forsaken craft often under appreciated.
